Somehow, it seems hardly surprising that the idea of moving goods transport underground comes from our Swiss neighbors. For the gifted and experienced masters of tunnel construction, it makes sense that they should open up this avenue for the now completely overloaded logistics industry.

Nevertheless: transporting goods underground? Until recently, we couldn't really imagine what that would look like. A phone call from Switzerland changed all that.

DO IT

Word has spread throughout Switzerland that we are strong in design, creation, and implementation. We are committed and are setting out on this journey with our partners. It will still take some time before the revolutionary logistics concept of Cargo sous terrain (CST) is realized.

Important milestones need to be reached, including gaining partners and gathering experience. Together with our project partners, we are launching “City Logistics” and the “Salübox” pilot project.

The CST sphere – an image for a process

Through our collaboration, we became part of CST's fascinating project of the century. It is a matter close to our hearts, because behind the CST vision lies a mission: to reduce the COfootprint through intelligent goods transport and to sustainably relieve the burden on people and the environment!

The key visual, the CST sphere, which officially rolls across the screen on the website and in short videos, conveys the vision. It was created by us and represents the long-term process which, once initiated, rolls inexorably toward its goal.

TAKE OFF

City logistics is gaining momentum

We transfer the key visual to the Citylogistik website. We designed it in consultation with our friendly and valued CST colleagues from Switzerland and created the texts. Our graphic design picks up on CST's color scheme and refines it with dynamic design elements. Instead of a “normal” punctuation mark, we place the CST sphere in green and slightly enlarged behind each headline.

We create icons and illustrations that illustrate and explain the benefits for everyone when the last mile is relieved. After programming the site, we go online on schedule. At the press event, our bags of seed balls, which convey the key visual, the vision, and the concept of sustainability, create emotional moments.

MOVE ON

City logistics is a challenging topic. Videos and animations are therefore chosen to convey the topic in a simple and understandable way to all interest groups from business and logistics. We create animations and edit several clips for the website and social media, which CST intends to use to promote city logistics.

FEED ME

A box like no other

The Salübox has been operating in Zurich for some time now. The box offers a round-the-clock service for depositing, exchanging, collecting, and shipping goods. The Salübox is a pilot project from which the partners involved expect to gain important insights. Cargo sous terrain Citylogistik is implementing this innovative solution in collaboration with the City of Zurich's Civil Engineering Office, Urban Development, Real Estate, and Zurich Public Transport.

Our task: to develop a communication concept, a catchy name, a suitable logo, and an attractive design. In addition, we needed to create a story that would appeal to everyone, alleviate any reservations, and encourage people to use the box.

The design of the SalüBox:
A smile for everyone

Our concept is being implemented by the city of Zurich and the civil engineering office. The “Salübox” welcomes the multicultural city population in several languages. With a winning smile, it invites people to use its services. The green smiley face also reminds users that using the Salübox benefits the environment and people.

An important consideration for the design: the symbolism must be simple and easy to understand. It must reach and positively appeal to everyone in the city. At the same time, the design must be transferable to all media. We have accomplished this task: from the website to social media to merchandise, we capture the attention of all target groups and have a positive impact on people and city life with a smile.
